Why did Hillary did no create and uproar when she agreed to the DNC rules?
Since last fall she knew that FL and MI were stripped from their delagates, she was told not to campaign there, and she graciously agreed. I really want to know, it troubles me how no one raises this issue to her, am i missing something?

- I don't know, she wants to be known as the candidate that fights to get every vote counted but only if she thinks it might help her.
- You're missing that she is an opportunist politician. Obama had the same reasons for not campaigning there. Calculated risks.
- You're not missing a thing. I would like to add one more tidbit I learned last week while listening to Tim Russert. It was Terry McAuliffe who put the rule into the Democratic primaries back in 2003 when he was the Head of the Democratic National Committee. Now that he is Hillary's campaign manager, he acts like he never heard of the rule. Incredible.
- She thought she would have the nomination on Feb 5th. She is such a sore loser, and an embarrassment to the Democratic Party. I therefore denounce and repudiate Hillary Clinton and her racist supporters.
- People mention it all the time. However, they voted for it in December and no one knew they would be stripped permanently for the convention when the nominee was chosen. By the way, rules can be changed. Separate, but Equal was changed. The right for women to vote was added. The rights of all and the right for all not matter what race, color, or creed was added. So too can this rule be changed. The real question should be why has Obama continued to push for the disenfranchisement of Michigan and Florida when he purports to be a new kind of politian for change?
- Hillary is a moot point. You really shouldn't be focusing on her anymore. John McCain is where we need to focus on now. HE is who Obama will fight in November. I mean really, he's only got 50 more delegates before he's reached his goal. Don't let Hillary distract you. Ruston: Thanks for enlightening us I didn't know that. Darow: that argument is getting old. Is that all you got? LOL
- America has 50 states not 48 or 57 and they have a right to count
- She didn't think she would need their votes when she made the agreement. It is also a shame how she is blaming Obama and some people are believing it. She only cares about the votes that will help her to win. She doesn't care if the super delegates over-rule them as long as they go with her and not Obama. edited: To Yo- yes rules can be changed but not in the middle of the contest when it can affect the outcome of the race. The time to protest would have been before the primaries not after the damage is done. What would you think if all of a sudden they decided to change the rules in basketball in the middle of the game to say if you hit the basket that is a point. Never mind that players have been doing it the entire game. Suppose in the best out of 7 games one wins four games but the other team has scored more points in all of the games combined. Suppose they say they think it should be total baskets because that proves who is the better player. Let's count the baskets that hit the rim because we don't want to leave anyone out. This is what Hillary is trying to do change the rules and move the bar so she can win regardless to how unfair it is to Obama who has been playing by the rules.
- I don't know. Please tolerate me for using this answer to reply to another poster. YO - The "rules" you mentioned were indeed changed, but not in the middle of an election to benefit a certain candidate, like this rule in discussion would. Deb M - Obama did not take his name of the ballot because he thought he would lose, he did it as part of an agreement with other candidates. EVERY MAINSTREAM DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE, except Clinton, Dodd, and Kucinich, took their names off the Michigan Ballot!!!! Plus, that makes no sense to take your name off for the possibility of loss, as you'd almost be certain to win delegates regardless of win or lose (in a normal situation).
- Both states had their Primaries in January...they were scheduled for a later date...so I don't think she agreed NOT to campaign there until the dates were moved up.... What MI and FL need to realize is that it has been Hillary Clinton working to get their votes counted. Obama took his name off the MI ballot because he knew he would lose. Hillary raised 10 million for a revote...but Obama refused...just like he refused to allow the FL vote to count!!
- Obama is the one who created the mess in the first place. He broke the rules and the States got punished for it. They couldnt campaign there. Delegates tried to fight it in court but Obama did not back it and it got tossed out of court. That said.. now they need to add the votes. It is in the Constitution - Peoples votes have a right to be counted. Hillary is asking for the votes now because the voters have that right. DNC stuff is out of their hands and they shouldnt be penalized for Obamas original mistake.
- Some media outlets are and sure would like it out there more but people know what she did, what she said and how she did it What bothers me is how it got turned around to Obama not wanting the delegates counted...unreal He NEVER said that once and heard him repeat himself time and time again...yet all I hear is ' how concerned she is to seat ALL the delegates that are hers! Even after someone points out BUT ...Obama was not even on the Michigan ballot....they say...well he is the one who CHOOSE to take HIS name off (Like everyone agreed to) Was not until she got behind that she started...all in news files Seen a group protesting on line to get her seated and have the votes counted ....getting signatures etc.watch for them on May 31st at the DNC meeting and she is egging them on... They will be seated but not what she wants all for her.......
- The essence is their votes should be counted but only after a fair election. The result from the earlier election should be discounted as the intent was different. If a new poll is tendered perhaps the cost could be split three ways between each of the candidates and the authorities that sanctioned the early polls. Hillary was initially in favor of the exclusion but that's not supposed to matter now.
- Last fall she thought she had it all locked up. Figured it would all be over come Super Tuesday, probably had her acceptance speech written. Didn't count On Obama throwing a monkey wrench in her plans
- No! You are not missing anything. Most of the media give Hillary a pass on most issues. The reason Hillary has created an uproar of MI & FL is obvious to anyone not blinded in their support for Hillary Clinton. When Hillary felt she could win without MI & FL, the DNC penalty she supported was fine. When Obama achieved an insurmountable lead, it was a tragic injustice. It's just politics as usual and it doesn't appear to be helping her win the nomination. It is sad that people on both side can lose all sense of balance and reasonableness in their support of their candidate. We have a historic election before us. America deserves something better than we created by electing Bush to 2 terms.
- its really dumb that people think its normal that she only cares about florida and michigan AFTER she realizes they are the only chance of her winning. the media is agreeing with her too. and people think shes a candidate that cares about the voters, when she didnt give a rats ass before they voted.
