Why does it cause an uproar to call black people black but fine to call white people white?
I just read an article about black people being appalled when someone got on the Wal-Mart PA and said, "All black people, leave now" Now they are boycotting the store and getting all pissed off whereas if the person would have said, "All white people, leave now" no one would have cared. I'm sure blacks call us white people white all the time. It distinguishes us. Being called black isn't racist. Its what you are...

- I'd be mad at God if I were black too.
- becuaz they like to pull out the race card any chance they get. they dont want equality they want special treatment.
- i don't think they're upset about being called black. i think they're upset about their race being singled out and told to leave the store. it's only racist if you talk about black people as one big group and you're saying something discriminatory. kicking them out of the store=discriminatrory
- <--- calls self a Black girl...
- no need to use race labels for whites. just saying, "will all pedophiles leave the store" will suffice.
- I call myself Blasian
- Even though whoever said that over the PA shouldn't have probably done it, I agree with your main point. I was called "White" all the time through grade school. Didn't bother me really, cause.. Well, I'm white. Skin color is a distinguishing factor when describing someone. As long as people aren't throwing around the N word or S word .. W word.. Then I don't see it as a problem. That being said.. yeah, singling them out like that probably was a little bit racist. or at least i can see it that way.
- Sweetie, It is not the fact that they were called black, but all the black people had to leave based on their race. Sweetheart, You would be mad to if someone told you to leave a store because you were white.
- It's because they singled black people out and told them to leave like there was something wrong with them not because they called them black people. It was just some silly person that did it and they should just ignore it and not make such a big deal about it because that is what that person wanted.
- I don't mind being called white, but I would be annoyed if someone said, "All white people leave now." I would maybe be concerned about security at that store, too. I don't think it was the word 'black' that made people angry in that story. I think it was one race of people being ordered to leave the store.
- No one cares about whites. deal wit it.
- hay nigga , whaz up dood. you know what im sayin, hay like look her dood us white poke are cool and black people are cool to and we owe them, we gave them a counrty to live in and a job and welfare and we gave them affermitave action law so i loose my job cause my parents didnt stand in front of the sun long anough but we white people owe everyone some thing , dont you get it>? every country we go to people look at us as a $ sigh and give us the impresion that we owe them some thing , the black off shore workers we support now in jail and free a lot of stuff? its cause we are so stupid and have a heart to give and not take from others , whos going to help us ? ever? no one ? so freek life and be hated by everyone in all counrtys and just keep working and forget everyone , thay dont care about you , if your white everyone love loves to hate you , and thats life good night
- So dramatic. The wal-mart intercom. You're right though. Whites are just like "meh, stfu" and they keep shopping like nothing happened. We wouldnt even leave. I doubt they "made" them leave. How is that possible?
- Uh ..dumbtard it's not because they were called black, but because they were singled out and told to leave the store.
- yea i agree people are wayyyyyyyy to sensitive now
- I am totally amazed that with your acute skills of deduction that you can even use a computer. Need to work on that reading comprehension, Zippy (ROFL).................................>_<
- I am a white woman and would be terribly offended if someone said 'all white people, leave now'. It would be the same if that person said 'all females leave now!'. It is a racist and discriminative comment. I don't know what would make someone say that over the PA at a supermarket. I would love to read this article that you refer to. Also, I had an African American friend who was black and I referred to her as a black woman and she referred to me as a white woman when we were talking about the differences and similarities between us and our race etc. I agree with you when you say 'being called black isn't racist. Its what you are' but can you honestly say that you wouldn't be offended if someone said that you had to leave a place because of your colour? I think that is the point of the article, but I may have it wrong as I haven't read it :)
- Interestingly enough there was a case not too long ago where a Black judge told all the white people people to leave his courtroom (Imagine if a white judge told all the black people to leave, black people would be shouting about it for years!!).....No-one really cared. watch the story of it here.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7dNQkkn3WQ
- well i would be mad if they told me all black people leave. and it all depends on how use the word black. many ppl that i know dont have a problem with the term black. forreal though i find african american annoying. but watever
- I dont think theyre made because they were called black I think they were mad because they were told to all leave
