If Barrack Obama uses a teleprompter, why the uproar about Palin scribbling notes on her palm?

Heck most politicians use teleprompters; it is not just Obama. Most people that speak publicly even use notes to help them while they speak. Again: What is the big deal with Sarah Palin and her palm notes?

Public Comments

  1. Well, she was making fun of Obama for using a teleprompter while she had notes on her hand. It was kind of ironic and hypocritical.
  2. Why the uproar about either?
  3. Theres a difference between having a few words on your hand and having your whole speech read to you.
  4. If you are making a speech, a teleprompter or notes are perfectly acceptable. In fact, it's rare that a person who makes a speech memorises or improvises it. But if you are going to be taking ad hoc questions, being able to answer them without having to refer to notes is an indication of your competency. It was revealed during and conclusively after the election campaign that Sarah Palin, in this regard, was completely incompetent.
  5. there's a big difference between reading an entire brief or speech directly off a teleprompter and writing three words on your hand to remind you on things to say when you have made several speeches all day. At least she can think without a machine
  6. Because for one, someone who scribbles notes on their hands in not considered very bright. Second, the words on her hand weren't talking points for her speech, they were the answers to questions she hadn't been asked yet. Did you see the footage of her actually pausing her speech, and looking down at her hand for a few seconds reading them? LMAO, can you imagine THAT as the President of our country?
  7. We could do this all night.
  8. You miss the hypocrisy. It was Palin who often criticized Obama for using a teleprompter and then she scribbles notes on her hand. And you are right, every president since Eisenhower has used a teleprompter and most public speakers use note cards. But to scribble notes on your hand like a 6th grader is more than a little funny.
  9. what uproar?
  10. You say that most politicians use a teleprompter, which is true. So we agree that this is not an issue. The problem is that Republicans keep trying to make Obama's use of a teleprompter into some sort of fatal flaw, as if he can't remember his basic philosophy of governing unless he reads it from a teleprompter. In fact, several Republicans in their speeches at CPAC ridiculed Obama for using a teleprompter while reading their speeches from a teleprompter. Sarah Palin has ridiculed Obama for using a teleprompter as well. What politicians don't do is scrawl notes on their hand. 5th graders giving a speech in history class do that. I especially worry when a politician who wants to be taken seriously as a presidential candidate scrawls basic beliefs on her hand: Energy, cut taxes, lift American spirits. Was she afraid she would forget her philosophy of governing unless she was able to read it? Hmm. Where have I heard that criticism before?
  11. nothing! i've done it. you've done it. hell, everybody and their mother's done it so what's the big deal? a media that is controlled by liberals. hateful, spiteful, mean spirited individuals having the luxury of being able to do and say what they damn well please and answering to nobody. lest we forget, this same media that called john f. kennedy's presidency camelot. all the while, he and his brother were banging Marilyn monroe. isn't that committing adultery?! and, although just a theory, could have had something to do with her death. this same morally bankrupt, gutter slime Mafioso thugs blamed george bush jr for the destruction of new orleans. and why? it was his fault that the levee wasn't up to standards.
  12. The reason for the uproar is the reason why the media continues the pointless comments made about the issue. The reason the media keeps the issue alive is because the American public continue to watch. If the people would stop commenting on such absurd issues then the media would eventually get around to covering important issues. As long as it keeps the people entertained they will continue to keep feeding us the BS.
