How do I find original IP addresses for members posting in my yahoo group?

Some folks posting in my yahoo group are causing an uproar. It is suspected that some of these folks are the same person posting under different Yahoo IDs. Is there a way to find the originator of posts in a yahoo group? I know how to find the header in an email but can't seem to find a show header place on a post in my group.

  1. Ginny, Yes you can view Message headers in Yahoo Groups, but I won't give you a fish but instead try to teach you how to fish :-) Here it is: Join a Yahoo Group about Groups: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/original/ownmod/starting/ideas-01.html It is the best place to ask advanced questions such as the one you just asked.
  2. no need to join any group to find this answer- thisisn't so advanced an answer, either. anyone can do this once they know where to look. on the group, click open to read the post- to the right, below the date and above the persons ID click Show Message Option - then click View Source- the IP addy will be about the 5th line down but keep in mind, some ISP's refresh these addys and some people can change them at will so this is not a fool proof way to determine they are the same person.
