Do Democrats believe that the uproar against nationalized healthcare is due to racism?
These same people were against it when Hillary Clinton was pushing for it. Would they favor crappy rationed care that would practically bankrupt the country just because a white person is pushing for it? I don't think so. Would they be cool with Stalin, Lenin, and other white guys like that if they were pushing for socialized medicine? Come on. Playing the race card will NOT work here, and this issue is completely non-racial, regardless of your stance. Even President Obama realizes this.

- i don't care if obama was orange. i would vote for any black repub!!!!!!! i never saw any racist people at any tea parties i've been to. as a matter of fact there were were 2 black families right by my side and i was never more proud than to have them there with me.
- No-personally I think it's due to greed and misinformation spread by Fox news and right wing ex-deejay talk show hosts...
- Most voters realize that democrat politicians and the liberal media, will always throw the race card when they get desperate.,,
- Of course they don't. It's part of their playbook to demonize their opponent - personalize the attack to kill debate. Unfortunately for them, they've used the term Racism so much that it has utterly lost its meaning.
- Yes of course
- Democrats believe that all Republicans are racists Which is a stereotype. Racists....
- You know that's all they have left to throw out there, they are really getting desperate.
- Just as their fearless leader Obama its all just words just words. When the left starts using derogatory words in a lame attempt to demean and silence the opposition it only serves to weaken their position . By interjecting the word "racism" into the debate it means they have already lost and they know it.
- Do some of them really believe it? I wouldn't doubt it. But I'm guessing that most of them are just screaming racism because they don't have a better argument...if you look at the cold, hard facts, public healthcare doesn't stack up too well in an economy that wants to be efficient.
- The sad truth is, the overly-liberal state of mind that has infested our nation will completely disagree with everything that you just said.
- No, it is due to fear of change and greed.
- We're racist now. When Billary was proposing it we were sexist... obviously... gah...
- Of course not, it's an excuse. I just read an AP story about the $950 fine per person if you don't take health insurance under the new bill in congress. Those are the kind of things people truly want to know about, but racism is a good tool to distract the people.
- I think you know the answer to your own question: When a liberal cannot win an argument with facts and logic (which is often the case) they simply scream "RACIST, BIGOT, HATER, HOMO-PHOBE, etc, etc.
- No.
- The right believes that health care reform benefits the unemployed. YA shows countless comments that the right believes the unemployed must all be black. Health care reform helps the poor. YA shows countless comments that consider the poor to be innercity and black. Health care reform could be abused by illegal immigrants. The overwhelming comments on immigration in YA are about darker skinned Mexican illegals -- rarely a comment about white or asian illegals. YA is littered with comments about non-whites needing to leave the US. The right uses coded language like "hard working americans" to mean employed white folk and the recipients of health care benefits to unemployed blacks or Mexican illegals. Of course racism is a factor.
- I personally believe it is due to greed and personal desire to keep your congress seat. The insurance companies will not support a candidate who won't back them up against health reform.
- I opposed Kennedy when he proposed it, When Clinton proposed it so I guess I am what Prez Carter, Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson say I am.
- They're just throwing crap at the wall and hoping something sticks. After the uproar they finally started to remember what happened when Hillary and Bill pushed for healthcare - a Republican take over of the House and Senate. They're scared to death of what they did but don't know how to put the genie back in the bottle.
- they put a racist in the supreme court sotomayor
- Of course. If they aren't racist, then why else would they side against nationalized health care. I mean, come on. It's not like it's a good idea or anything. They don't really have any other argument for it.
- You people just make crap up as you go along. Now it is gonna bankrupt the country. No, health care the way it is will do that. We need the changes.
