Why is everyone in an uproar over Michael Vick being allowed to play for the NFL again?
He paid his debt already. Enough! It strikes me very odd that child abusers get off easier than Vick did. Will we ever hear the end of the peta people? Wow, what a lot of really interesting, good answers. Thanks to all of you who responded. I will certainly enjoy watching the Eagles play this season!

- I think the average person has calmed down about it, though you still get some who just won't get over it. Most of the sports talk shows I've listened to seem to be of the "He did the crime. He did his time. Let him rejoin society" opinion. No, you will never hear the end of it from PETA. They're an aggressive, activist organization. It's what they do.
- it's very stupid for people to have such hatred in there heart for Vick. At least Goodell had the decency to let the man back in spite all the haters. just because a person went to prison for a crime doesn't mean that he should be banned from the privilege of earning a living with the only skills that he has. Kudos for the Philadelphia organization! one thing i know about the fans in Philly, they support there team. and Vick will make the Eagles a stronger team!
- The way the NFL treats Michael Vick will set a standard for the future of the league. While I agree with the fact that Vick has done his time in the eyes of the government there is something else to be said at the freedom the NFL holds by setting an example, or a standard by Vick's rare case.
- because he killed dogs
- He paid his debt to society... yes! enough said!
- Personally, I was over the whole Vick ordeal for a year now and could've cared less if he made it back in the NFL or not.
- because people expect their players to be ethical and role models ?? i'd much rather give vick''s spot to a kid right out of college. give others a chance. vick had his
- I totally agree with Foolm5k. I agree that Vick has paid his debt as far as the government is concerned. But to allow a player to come right back after doing something like Vick did doesn't really set a good example to kids. It's like saying, "You can commit any crime you want killing dogs, murder, rape, etc and as long as you play good enough you'll be rolling again in more cash than you know what to do with in no time." I think it's sad that people get much more upset over dog killings than when somebody kills another person or when they commit child abuse, but in my opinion there should be some real consequences when a player commits a serious crime. Playing in the NFL should be considered a privilege. If the player commits a serious crime, they should be gone for good. That would provide more good role models in the NFL and it would send a clear message to kids that when you commit a crime there are serious consequences, not just a slap on the wrist.
- Im sick of these Mike Vick questions. The only people who really care are those peta a$$holes who care more about animals than humans.
- Some people in this world just have a hatred demeaner or spirit or quality and they are driven by hating on others. Michael Vick just happens to be the most public and someone all those people can focus their anger on. Anger only hurts the person it consumes!
- Being a Eagles fan. I never thought they would've signed Vick. But we did do his 2 years in prison. I mean this is America. We all make mistakes. Look at Donte Stallworth who was drunk and KILLED a human. He got less than 30 days in jail. There will not be a problem for him.
- He did what he did, like you said child abusers get off easier than him. Not that what he did wasn't horrible but abusing kids is extremely bad. Most child abusers don't lose 100 million or more over it. He did time in prison, lost a ton of money and now he is 29 years old with a small window of time left to do something positive. Lets hope he makes the best of it! PETA is a very good organizatiion that goes after animal abusers. Vick is a high profile one so he is and will be in PETA's sights for years to come.
- I bet 90% of those PETA queers don't even watch football. They are a bunch of emotional creatures that cannot think rationally when it comes to their bleeding-heart issues.
- I agree with you. Its good to see ANOTHER POV instead of all this Michael Vick bashing. I really should not have listened to sports radio this weekend because I knew how it would get me. But I just had to hear for myself what people were talking about regarding Vick's signing. It should be an interesting season for the birds, and I can't wait for regular season to get here! I'm not even going to listen to that stuff tomorrow. Too many rabid people with no self control.
