What does "Catch U On Da Flipside" mean?

My grandmother says this literally ALL THE TIME and I don't want to be rude and ask her and make her feel old. I don't have any other parents to ask so help me out!

  1. just means catch ya later or see ya later
  2. It sorta means "I'll see you later". Flipside, on the back back through.
  3. Take it from an old ex- DJ: "Catch you on the flip side" goes back to 60s jargon and means I will see you later, next time, after the main event or something similar. The origin dates from when popular songs were released on 7-inch vinyl records that played at 45 r.p.m. These had two sides and each side contained one song from the same artist or band. The side with the song that the record company and promoters thought was the hit was called the "A" side. After playing the song on the "A" side, you flipped the record to play the "B" or flip side. There was sometimes some irony in telling someone you will catch them on the flip side, as many flip sides were hardly ever played at all and so the implication was that you had no intention of seeing them. Next time your grandmother says this you can respond with something about catching her first on a A side.
  4. It means just see you later
