Why the uproar about Obama bowing to the Saudi King?
What problem have you (personally) got with it?

- He wasn't bowing, he was reading off the floor teleprompter.
- He is the American president and shouldn't bow to a foreign ruler.
- personally, none. but i can understand why some people are outraged. green-eyed goblin...that was good!
- If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand !
- the saudi's took it as servitude. Bush kissed him because they were equals..obama's his slave. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqyxeIePV7qvU_NrINWxXCLsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090408170139AAGxuNT
- It's new ammuntition for the right wing psychos to complain about.
- You mean why am I upset that our leader bowed to theirs? Did he bow back to Obama? NO??? Then we acted subserviant to the other guy. That puts you in a position of weakness especially with them!!
- According to everyone on this site that I've heard from BLA BLA BLA BLA. Now are you straight on this?
- I only expect we will see a lot more of the same. He will probably bow to Castro too.
- Perhaps he was admiring the King's royal sandals and thought to himself,"By golly, they're smaller then Michelle's".
- I am just glad he didn't serve as the kings "chin" rest...
- be serious...the answer is obvious!
- I see you are good Lib, and you have no problem with it. Do you have a problem with him now, lying about it? Or is that OK too?
- Well I'm 25 % Arabic It is done to show respect people bow down to each other in random street greetings as well. I don't know if they were expecting Obama too I find it funny that he is lying about it Personally I want to see a video of it so I can laugh my butt off
- The leader of the United States, the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave shouldn't bow down submissively to anyone. America is no one's bitch!
- because conservatives are obsessed with dominance... and they fear losing dominance more than anything in the world... they also fear anything that could possibly make them seem to be less dominant... in any way... to any one... they are on the same level as silver backed apes emotionally... note... they don't seem to understand how you could not understand it...
- He didn't bow to the Queen? He only bows to the one who just so happens to be a big oil supplier. You know what is wrong with Obama...he talks clean energy and I say fine! Now, is his a$$ coming back in a row boat from Saudi Arabia or is he going to burn all that carbon fuel in that huge jet? Where is this friendly energy going to come from? He's just going to write a check and it's just going to fall out the sky? It's all talk, talk and a good reason to tax everybody.
- I think everyone in the room knew who the most powerful person there was. Unless of course the Saudi King is delusional...and if he is...who the hell cares we have F-22 Raptors, the most powerful army in the world, and the US Marine Corp. So who really cares if Obama bowed to him out of respect for their culture? We are the world power and if it weren't for oil they wouldn't be anything...period.
- American presidents don't bow to kings, or at least they didn't before Beaten Puppy Apologist Obama. And no, Bush never bowed to any king. Maybe Obama was just trying to mind-meld with His Majesty's royal muslim schlong...
- Brian P said it best... You can walk softly and carry a big stick- If your confident in your real power symbolism it just theater-
- G. has it right. With my long years of living and I have LIVED, I have found that those who say that they will and won't do whatever are the ones who are the wimpies of this world. The right wingers talk such a game but you couldn't trust them in a grape fight, they wouldn't crush not one.
- maybe he's bowling to his king
- obama is my representative and by bowing to a saudi king he insults me but all things considered, it is a trivial matter and i think an honest mistake obama is young and inexperienced
- Bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia puts you in the classification in his mind as a servant to his crown. Obama should not bow to the king because he is an american, not a subject to the king of Saudi Arabia. His bow was a insult to the people of america on the world stage.
- poor losers got nothing else to talk about
- It was tactless, and another point for those who think that this may be a signal that he is willing to undermine the strength of America.
- I don't... You're supposed to bow to a king to show respect. The King of Saudi Arabia would have been offended if he didn't.
- It was a bow... and the Adminstration is lying about it. If I were Obama, I'd beat up the moron in his administration that decided to lie about it...
- I don't see it as an issue. It's just a stupid formality... but God-forbid anyone should bow to the arabs! OH NOOO NOT THE ARABS!!! SPECIALLY NOT "THEM" sorry.. but.. It IS prejudice. Plus Saudi Arabia is hardly an Enemy to US... It's an ally if Anything.
- It was a deep bow. It was too low. I think if it were a little head bob to say hello while shaking hands, I wouldn't have a problem. That would be more of "I respect you & hello" as the men did years ago with tipping their hats in the streets. What Obama did was a deep bow, past the shoulders, which signifies subservience. His actions make it easy for us to imagine him saying, "Yes, your majesty." Bad move.
