How do you play a level you already beat in mario paper wii?

I was playing level 3-4 when I went to flipside to buy stuff and it won't let me back to level 3-4, I have to start over at level 3-1. I can view the levels I beat but can't play them? 1. turn off game. restart.
2. Once you use the return pipe to go back to flipside, you have to work your way back to where you were in the level. If your last save was somewhere in the level, you can just reset the game at the expense of not getting any items.
