Why are so many people in an uproar about Obama's fatherhood comments?
He was just saying what thousands of people think everyday...take care of your kids and keep them off of the system. But since Jesse Jackson took issue with it, now it seems like he is the second coming for those same people. What really gives?
Public Comments
- Funny, when a White man, Dan Qualye says it, about America in general, he gets blasted. My, my have times changed. Wonders never cease.
- Yeah, he knows of what he speaks. His dad was a real winner.
- I must have missed that. Reckon it wan't important...
- it's crazy how there is an uproar. obama tells deadbeat daddies (all races) to take care of their kids. because if these men would step up to the plate and be a father to the babies they made, then the welfare rolls would shrink even further. and that is definintely a plus. folks can't have it both ways. they complain about the welfare system and then they complain about obama telling men to take care of the kids that they make. amazing, huh?
- Well, I can see why the Jester got all hot and bothered as he's got, last I recall, four illegitimate children of his own. He was awfully stupid, though, to get publicly upset as it just made him look like he was taking Obama's point personally. Heck, maybe he was taking it personally!
- Everyone is in an uproar about ALL of Obama's comments! The man can't do or say anything without half the people in the country freaking out. It's ridiculous. I'd personally rather focus on FACTS and the REAL issues! Not a bunch of media hype garbage...
- What jesse really meant to say was "dat Obama he be taken my bread n butta"
- I will not vote for him, but I do commend him for having the bravery to publicly say what he did, it is a problem for all.
- i agree 100% with Obama that dads of all races should man up and take care of their kids , as to why Jackson had an issue with this is maybe it stepped on his toes a little bit since he himself fathered a child with a mistress about the same time Bill Clinton had his affair , thats why the Rev was so supportive if you remember of Bill Clinton at the time , but as for me i have respect for what Obama said and for his success as a candidate and will never take anything Jessie Jackson says serious hes a racist himself and for that i have NO respect for him ,however i will Vote for Obama in November . and im a white Republican who is fed up with the mistakes made by my own party Obama in 08 !
- Because ... PARENTHOOD should be discussed !!! TRY ... DEADBEAT ... PARENTS !!!! I ... could be qualifying for Socialist / Communist / Liberal / Marxist / Democratic Government Hand-Out Programs ... as a Single-Father that does NOT receive Support. I could have "neglected" my child while furthering "my career", BUT, chose ... NOT to !!! . QUIT WHINING AND GET A JOB !!!! ... and STOP making babies that YOU can NOT afford !!! .
