Why does Family Feud always put two families of different races against each other?

On every episode of Family Feud that I've seen, there's always a black family against a white family, a Latino family against a black family, etc. Why is this?

2. Because the producers are diversity obsessed young people. They also make the woman head of the family now for political correctness purposes. I think it's a bad idea. It divides America. People just root for the family that is their race.

4. I don't know, maybe just to have variety or show that they don't only pick one race. but i've seen plenty of episodes when the two family's were the same race!!

7. I think just so that there's ethnicity/diversity in every episode. but I've noticed that, too.
8. Perhaps the producers thought it would be a good idea to have families of different ethnic backgrounds compete so that the show would appeal to a wider demographic of television viewers.

11. Becauase it's a RACE WAR! RACE WAR RACE WAR !!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not always like that, im sure they try to diversify it a bit so it looks good on TV but ive seen many episodes with two same race families goiong at it.
12. They don't on every single one, but on a lot they do. It's because in our society today people are so sensitive and take things personal. If there are all white's on a show someone is quick to say O they are racist. And no show wants that. It ruins their reputation
