How much uproar if a politician wanted to force public schools to teach the Muslim equivalent of creationism?

Public Comments

  1. He would be assassinated
  2. We dont have an equivalent to stupidity
  3. Well I am sure they would allow that. Because it is not Christain
  4. a lot
  5. Christianity, Judaism, and Islam pretty much have the same concept of creation.
  6. What is" the Muslim equivalent of creationism??"
  7. I just today read an article about Muslim teachings to OUR YOUNG, and it is NOT good folks. I believe you can find it in ActAmerica. Let's not let our Politicians force the "political correctness" crap down our throats for the fanatics to get a foot hold into our Country/Government/etc.
  8. There is no "Muslim equivalent" of Creationism. Creationism is a uniquely JudeoChristian teaching. Besides, public schools are an abomination and should all be burned to the ground.
  9. Orthodox Muslims accept the version of creation given in Genesis.
  10. Public schools should not teach a Christian or Muslim view of creation. However there is nothing wrong with stating that some religions believe the universe was created by God and that evolution may be controlled by God. Then tell the kids they are free to explore their own religouse beliefs.
  11. I want the teachers to have the right to say that evolution is a theory and that other theories are also out there. Creationism is another theory. Right now, the teacher can't even say that. I don't necessarily want creationism taught, evolution is the latest scientific theory. But I want the teacher to be able to educate the students that it is not a certain thing, and they should do some private research.
  12. You can't teach any other form of creation besides the theory of evolution because religion and education are and should be separated. It would never pass. It shouldn't even be suggested. Church is for religion. School is for education. EDIT- Did I happen to mention that I am a christian and believe in creationism?
  13. Believe this or not in California there are already schools teaching muslim, and there are special muslim schools also.
  14. You'd have to have new private schools opening that would . Want to teach this form of where we come from . Like I really care where the first forms of life come from .
  15. If you called it "Muslim equiv" then they would care. If you just taught the class they would say..."Ohh, I read this part in Genesis" and then look at each other quizzically.
  16. There is an island, near Madagascar called Mauritius. Religion is taught in school: Muslim, Buddhism, Christianity, Judism... There are no hate crimes in Mauritius. It is an industiralized/highly-populated island. No hate crimes? Why? Because the children learn early that everyone is different. They learn to respect other people and share. I think instead of NO religion in the schools, there should be a plethora of education at an early age.
  17. Creationism, whatever the religion involved, shouldn't be taught in our public schools. Teach what you like in private religious schools, but not in public schools.
  18. Which is the same as the Christian and Judaen one anyway because they are all different versions of the same religion. If there wasn't so much oil in the middle east the repubs would love it.
  19. nice try but its the same thing. creationism is creationism for islam too.
  20. It's already happening in some areas of the country in the form of changing school policy to adhere to Muslim beliefs in the classrooms. Changes that would cause public outcry if it was related to Christian religion so why is it allow for Muslim religion?
  21. There would be one hell of an uproar. But then again it always surprises me that the USA government lets the Bible's version of creationism be taught in science lessons. How can you put a religious text and scientific reasoning in the same class no matter what the religion. It's all rubbish, so it should all be kept out of school. If you want your kids taught this, take them to church/the local temple etc. or teach them at home, instead of the state forcing its stupid, unfounded and constantly disproved religious ideas on future generations. Plus public schools are private institutions and are not controlled by the government, so a politician couldn't force them to teach anything.
