How can Islam be about peace if they have violent uproars and attack in mobs when their religion is offended?

1. Here's my question for Yahoo! Answers: how many freaking times can this question be asked? I am betting that like 1/3 of the total server space devoted to Y!A is filled up with people asking "How come Muslims hurt people if it's about peace"? Here's the answer: Some people think it's not about peace. Some people think it's about peace and just aren't very good at peace. And some people - I would be the vast, vast majority of Muslims, think it's about peace and act peacefully. You just don't hear about them because they haven't blown anyone up. If every freaking Muslim in the world was as violent as you apparently think they are, we would all be dead.
2. Islam is literally the polar opposite of peace There is nothing, more opposite to peace itself, than Islam THATS A FACT. THATS REALITY.
3. well they think that by sacrificing themselves they are obeying there god and by killing they are pleasing but the religion has nothing to do with killing.

9. You watch too much television. When we say the vast majority of Muslims don't participate in these demonstrations, that is simply a fact. The Mohammed cartoons affair, for example, sparked a demonstration of some 2 000 - 3 000 people in Lebanon, in which the Danish embassy got burned. They show you this on television and makes with a title like 'Muslims in Lebanon are rioting'. It's true there was a riot. And it's true a lot of people were involved. However, you must keep in mind Lebanon has a population of about 4 million (About 2.5 million Muslims), this means that 2.2 million Muslims were NOT participating in those riots. In other words, about one Muslim in 1 000 participated in the demonstrations in riots, while 999 out of 1 000 continued with their daily lives like the vast majority of people anywhere in the world.
10. how can christians be about peace and love when historically they went around forcing their religion onto others. hence, christianity is the largest one on earth. and now, they use economy to fight their wars ... and smart bombs and fighter planes and .... etc.

Other religions apart from the Muslims faith preach peace as well. every time something like spouse abuse, child rapist or some kind of victimization occurs, people do not stand up to say that is the white American (majority Christians) who seemed to be offended, they simple by pass all the racial-religion white fe/male stuff..why because it is in every household-- this type of living. and Islam is one of those things that people do not know about thus what people do not know they mock.

Quran tells Muslims to kill the disbelievers wherever they find them (Q. 2:191), to murder them and treat them harshly (Q. 9:123), slay them (Q. 9:5), fight with them, (Q. 8: 65 ) even if they are Christians and Jews, humiliate them and impose on them a penalty tax (Q. 9: 29). Quran takes away the freedom of belief from all humanity and tell clearly that no other religion except Islam is accepted (Q. 3: 85). It relegates those who disbelieve in Quran to hell (Q. 5:10), calls them najis (filthy, untouchable, impure) (Q. 9: 28). It orders its followers to fight the unbelievers until no other religion except Islam is left (Q. 2: 193). It says that the non-believers will go to hell and will drink boiling water (Q. 14: 17). It asks the Muslims to slay or crucify or cut the hands and feet of the unbelievers, that they be expelled from the land with disgrace and that “they shall have a great punishment in world hereafter” (Q.5: 34). “As for the disbelievers”, it says that “for them garments of fire shall be cut and there shall be poured over their heads boiling water whereby whatever is in their bowls and skin shall be dissolved and they will be punished with hooked iron rods” (Q. 22: 9). Quran prohibits a Muslim to befriend a non-believer even if that non-believer is the father or the brother of that Muslim (Q. 9: 23), (Q. 3: 28). Quran asks the Muslims to “strive against the unbelievers with great endeavor (Q. 25: 52), be stern with them because they belong to hell (Q. 66: 9). The holy Prophet demanded his follower to “strike off the heads of the disbelievers”; then after making a “wide slaughter among them, carefully tie up the remaining captives” (Q. 47: 4). As for women the book of Allah says that they are inferior to men and their husbands have the right to scourge them if they are found disobedient (Q. 4:34). It teaches that women will go to hell if they are disobedient to their husbands (Q. 66:10). It maintains that men have an advantage over the women (Q. 2:228). It not only denies the women's equal right to their inheritance (Q. 4:11-12), it also regards them as imbeciles and decrees that their witness is not admissible in the court (Q. 2:282). This means that a woman who is raped cannot accuse her rapist unless she can produce a male witness. Muhammad allowed the Muslims to marry up to four wives and gave them license to sleep with their slave maids and as many “captive” women as they may have (Q. 4:3). He himself did just that. This is why anytime a Muslim army subdues another nation, they call them kafir and allow themselves to rape their women. Pakistani soldiers raped up to 250,000 Bangali women in 1971 after they massacred 3,000,000 unarmed civilians when their religious leader decreed that Bangladeshis are unislamic. This is why the prison guards in Islamic regime of Iran rape the women and then kill them after calling them apostates and the enemies of Allah.

Innocent people(including kids,old aged and women and men) are killed always becuase of islam( they being killed becuase they are muslims). media spreading false news... no one caring about the people they were killed because they were muslims! islam asking to live in peace! and if some people responding against the cruelty against muslims ,we are strongly oppossing! but we have to think why this suicide bomber killing himself???? because some of them thinking to fight to live happy! otherwise they wil be destroyed! islam is the fastest growing religion and its not allowed to spread any problems in the society or family. most of the people who oppossing islam are not studied about islam and just depending the false news creating by media syndicate. i am muslim ! my religion asking me to help others and to live in peace here in this world and here after world. so i am suffering all of this problems!

In the middle ages girls were married as they had their fist period that would be from 9 till 14 years of age. In the dark ages some girl child that were born were married as soon as they came from the womb. This was to seal a bond. All this was down with out Islam. Islam brought the guide of giving the rights to women. If a woman didn’t want to marry she didn’t have to. There is a story of a woman coming to the Prophet Mohammad saying she didn’t love her husband the Prophet told her that to give her dower back and then you will be divorced. I will only talk about one You say that the Quran says to “Quran tells Muslims to kill the disbelievers wherever they find them (Q. 2:191), to murder them and treat them harshly” But you didn’t read it fully 2.190 Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors. 2.191 And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. 002.192 But if they cease, Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful 002.193 And fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah, but if they desist, then there should be no hostility except against the oppressors. If you see it is telling Muslims to fight only with those who fight you. This is from the Quran and we are to follow. To add to this what you see a lot in the Middle East isn’t the truth about Islam. Now I will show you from the bible verses that I found to be violent A child who hits or curses his parents must be executed. 21:15, 17 21:15 And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death. 21:16 And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death. 21:17 And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death. If you make God angry enough, he will kill you and your family with his own sword.22.24 Ok I know what your saying that after Jesus’ came he died for all “our” sins so that doesn’t count All below comes from the Bible. I mean when I was a Christian I was told that Jesus cam and with his coming he took what was said in the old testament wasn’t to old anymore???? Clearly that’s not the truth of that. If Jesus said to kill your children if they curse you. Can you think of the kids today that curse you today you could kill them according to the law of the bible. I have 3 kids and one is a teenager and has said many things to me that would make me able to use this law. So befor you go to Insult know what you are trying to prove I advise you to research and not of the net go to an Islamic center in your area and get the true information. I am not asking you to convert because if you go to hell that will be on you not me. I just want you to get the facts right.
